Commercial & Regulatory Counsel to Edenred Sweden

Edenred Sweden is now looking for a Commercial & Regulatory Counsel to take on a newly created and important role within the organization.
About the Role
This role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work close to the business, combining regulatory expertise with day-to-day commercial impact.
You will work closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team, supporting the business in navigating regulatory requirements while enabling continued growth. The role involves monitoring and interpreting regulatory developments, setting clear internal standards, and ensuring that contracts and processes are aligned with current legislation and best practice.
You will also collaborate with colleagues across the organisation as well as external advisors, regulators and auditors, playing a key part in maintaining a strong and pragmatic compliance culture.
You will report to the Legal Director for the region, with a dotted line to the local General Manager, and work alongside the Data Protection Correspondent & Compliance Counsel for Sweden. The position is based at Edenred’s office in Liljeholmen, Stockholm.
Your key responsibilities include the following:
- Lead and develop the company’s contractual framework, ensuring strong legal expertise, robust controls, and compliance with key legislation and regulations, including PSD2 and upcoming PSD3 requirements;
- Monitor and assess regulatory developments within payments, fintech, and HR benefits;
- Provide support in general commercial legal matters and day-to-day legal activities when required;
- Work closely with business units and senior management while coordinating legal matters with external authorities; and
- Support strategic projects requiring regulatory alignment and ensure effective collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
Experience and Background
We are looking for a candidate with the following experience and qualifications:
- A Swedish law degree and several years of experience within payments, fintech, and regulated or licensed entities;
- Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as AML/CTF, KYC, and PSD2;
- Proven experience analyzing compliance processes, identifying gaps, and implementing scalable solutions; and
- Fluency in both Swedish and English, written and spoken.
